Contemporary Pacific Northwest Artist Exploring Color, Wonder & Imagination
My work is a celebration of color, imagination, and the lifelong connection I have had with creating. I make art for the five-year-old version of myself—the child who loved to imagine, explore, and dream of becoming an artist. I want that child to look at my work and feel wonder, pride, and excitement for the creative life ahead.
Through vibrant acrylic paintings and mixed approaches, I explore expressive faces, organic forms, florals, animals, and the spaces between the familiar and the imagined. My process is intuitive and playful, often beginning with color, movement, or a simple mark and allowing the work to reveal itself.
My current exploration of abstract faces grew from an interest in self-expression, identity, and emotional connection. Rather than creating traditional portraits, I use shape, color, and gesture to suggest personality and feeling. This same curiosity guides my exploration of biomorphic forms, natural imagery, and abstract compositions.
Color is at the heart of my work. I am drawn to bold palettes, joyful combinations, and forms that feel alive. Through experimentation and discovery, I create work that invites viewers to reconnect with their own sense of wonder and possibility.
I have always been an artist. My practice is a continuation of the imagination I had as a child and a reminder that creativity is not something we outgrow—it is something we carry with us.
